Fetal Skin Biopsy

Fetal Skin Biopsy involves the removal of fetal skin cells under ultrasound guidance. It is generally performed at around 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Technique:

To perform a Fetal Skin Biopsy, our physician inserts a sampling device through the mother's abdomen into the gestational sac and removes some fetal skin. The sample is then tested.
