Egg and Oocyte Recipient Program

IHR's Egg (Oocyte) Donation Program is one of the nation's largest egg donation programs RGI/IHR's Egg and Oocyte Recipient Programs describe the unique features of these programs, which are one of the largest, if not the largest, egg donation and Oocyte donations programs in the nation. Our programs also serve a large overseas clientele of recipients, and are well prepared to address language and travel concerns for our patients from other countries, who are interested in getting pregnant.

Embryo Adoption Program

IHR's worldwide renowned embryo adoption program is another possibility for infertile couples

RGI/IHR's Embryo Adoption (Embryo Donation) Program is renowned worldwide. Embryo Adoption is an example of the many possibilities available for infertile couples interested in getting pregnant. The embryo adoption process is otherwise similar to egg donation and oocyte donation. We ask recipient couples to fill out the Embryo Adoption Wish List, which allows us to match donors with recipient couples. Once a match is made, the cycle usually proceeds quickly.

Shared Cost (Refund) Programs

Qualified patients and their physicians share the financial risk with CHR's shared risk programs

In the Shared Cost Program, qualified patients and their physicians share in the financial risk. In two out of three programs, patients receive a full refund if they have not conceived upon completion of their treatment. All three shared cost programs are offered to couples without insurance coverage as a tool to decrease their financial burden.

Repeated Pregnancy Loss Program

IHR focuses on identifying the underlying causes of miscarriage Miscarriage of pregnancy is a physically and emotionally challenging ordeal. When pregnancy loss is repetitive, these feelings are magnified. Approximately 15-20% of all first pregnancies miscarry. Fortunately for most couples, the risk of a second consecutive miscarriage is small (15-20%). However, the risk of miscarriage after two consecutive pregnancy losses rises to 35-40% and continues to rise with each subsequent miscarriage. It is estimated that 2-5% of couples desiring pregnancy will suffer from recurrent pregnancy loss.

Establishing the correct diagnosis is important in treating couples with recurrent pregnancy loss. Causes of recurrent pregnancy loss include chromosomal defects, abnormalities of the uterus, hormonal insufficiencies, microbial infections and immunological factors.

RGI/IHR is well recognized for its expertise in reproductive immunology. RGI/IHR's Repeated Pregnancy Loss Program focuses on identifying the underlying causes of miscarriage and, when possible, treating them. When an immunological cause of recurrent miscarriage is diagnosed, all forms of immunotherapy are available through the program.

Recently, a new genetic cause of repeated pregnancy loss has been described in the literature where selectively male fetuses are lost. How this kind of pregnancy loss can be reduced through the use of Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD).

Special Care Programs

IHR's special care programs are an alternative for those with improbable chances of conceiving

Most fertility centers will NOT accept patients into treatment if their chance of conceiving is judged to be improbable. To service these patients, RGI/IHR has established our Special Care Program.

At RGI/IHR we believe that our principal responsibility is NOT to our program statistics, but to our patients. We strongly believe that the well-informed couple, who fully recognizes their low chance of conception but still wishes to conceive, is entitled to receive their desired treatments.

The following human reproduction circumstances may qualify you for participation:

  • Advanced Female Age
  • Poor Ovarian Response to Prior Stimulation
  • Age - Inadequate Response to Prior Stimulation
  • Multiple Failed IVF (in-vitro fertilization) Cycles
  • Immunological Disease

As a participant in our Special Care Program, your treatment will be individualized to your special circumstances. Even some of our human reproduction competitors refer their poor prognosis patients to RGI/IHR. They know that we will give them a chance.

RGI/IHR has considerable experience in supporting couples as well as individuals who have chosen alternative lifestyles. We strongly feel that reproduction is an essential and personal right and should be unencumbered by other people's judgments.
