Stem Cell Training and Support

RGI affiliate, Stemride International (SIL), is devoted to providing comprehensive assistance to recipients of the hESC lines. SIL provides interactive support for maintenance and handling of its products. Recipients can count on information, advice, and published materials to assist their regular handling of stem cells and troubleshooting.

We strongly recommend that individuals intending to work with stem cells thoroughly study SIL's Methodology Manual and acquire the skills necessary for relevant activities by training at SIL or other means.

About the Manual
Together with the lines, the recipient will have access to the hESC Culture Methodology Manual.
The manual covers topic such as:

• Shipment and handling of products when they are received.
• Equipment, reagents, solutions, and media.
• Storage and thawing of stem cells.
• hESC line maintenance.
• Troubleshooting and contact details.

Training
SIL provides personal training to specialists working with SIL produced lines. Highly qualified scientists will travel to a hosting laboratory to demonstrate the full spectrum of activities pertaining to stem cell maintenance and use. They will share their knowledge and experience of theory and practice, provide hands-on training, and answer all questions raised by trainees. The typical course takes 3 to 5 days, depending on the qualifications of the trainee.
